The 3D on the 3DS is very divisive, and that is part of the issue. When playing Monster Hunter with friends, I swear by the 3D being on, while my friends absolutely have to have it off.

Do you own a 3DS? It has a completely different library of games. When I go out, I usually bring both my Switch and my 3DS.

This here is why many Melee players won’t go to Smash 4. In Melee, it is impossible to beat a player who is more skilled than you. In Smash 4, lucky choices plus having a good day can carry you far.

Let me respond to most of the nonsense arguments in these comments:

I was discussing this mission the other day with my friends. This happens to be one of my favorite missions in the game, while my friends disliked it. I enjoy the atmosphere and how the pace of the game is changed by there being a direction and play-style expected of you.

By super-fans I mean the small incessant fan-base that is convinced that their console is somehow the greatest, as opposed to people who don’t argue over playthings. You can play on a PS4 Pro without wanting all competitors to go out of business.

I already enjoy my Switch a lot more than my PS4, in terms of UI, hardware, and controllers. As long as Nintendo has a market, there is no reason as to why they should cater to the small population of Sony/MS super-fans.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you look on Metacritic, the userscore for BOTW is a 7.5. 3505 scores are positive, 275 are mixed, and 1166 are negative. This launch has been particularly viral, so it is also attracting a lot of hate. The majority of Switch users are pretty content with the hardware.
