@The Swiftman: yeah, I used the same combination of DVD43 and handbrake on my vista machine, after I upgraded to 7 it took a little while to find that fix.

@The Swiftman: I use either DVDshrink, to create .iso's to burn straight to another DVD. If you want a video file, use a combination of handbrake and vlc player. Both of those methods strip copy protection without other software.

@grewal12: You might try the portable version of chrome, I find that it uses far less memory than firefox. I can have 20 tabs in chrome use less RAM than 5 tabs in firefox. I am not sure if the portable version supports add-ons though..

live mesh also has this functionality, but its not very publicized for some reason. I just use it to stream my music from my desktop to my netbook when I'm on the go.

if it is on the internet, it is not private, nor safe. It does not matter if it is google, or windows live or .mac. if you want your life to be private throw your computer in the trash.

I recently read an article where IT stayed with IE6 for exactly this reason. If your employees cannot access youtube, or facebook, then you do not have to worry about your employees spending/wasting time on those sites.

thanks for pointing this out. I use Opera off and on, but never knew about this. I download on the netbook, and transfer the files to the desktop to watch, which is a huge pain, but the best solution I can come up with for now. While not a sync solution like dropbox, the ability to transfer files of any size is killer

VOTE: iTunes

how does it work, where do i Dl it?
