For the record I still hold the Oscars to a higher regard, but that's mostly attributed to how much I dislike the Grammy's and Golden Globes. I believe the awards get some things right or close to right often enough to still have clout. But, my principle issue is still how terribly narrow the Academy's boundaries are

It's a shame how much I loved Community was in direct contrast with how much money it apparently generated over the course of six seasons.

I feel like I'm not exactly sure what the finale was trying to convey. Personally, it would have probably been better suited as an hour long, but that may have not really changed much of an impact.

Hello by Erykah Badu featuring Andre 3000. Killer.

This is the whitest thing of all-time, guys.

May not get a lot of agreement here, but I would not kill Darth Maul at the end of Episode I (no single solution fixes any problem). Because:

I think that was just regular jerking off, if we're splitting hairs.

I've been down on this show like a lot of us for the past few years, but holy hell this recent stretch is some of the strongest work they've ever done. I'm just shocked.

Entertainment online commentary thrives much more on the 5 percent of something people dislike than the 95 percent they do.

Any other generational swaths you want to lay out?

B+? I haven't watched yet, but from the general social media reaction I would've figured this would get an F-1000

I'd agree. It seems like every episode is 40 minutes of me not being engaged and then 20 minutes of "Oh, okay."

Is anyone else getting a reverse hype feel like me yet? In the sense that people are complaining so much about the show that I'm somehow becoming more engaged than I should be?

I'm going to go, perhaps easily, with The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's presentation of 'Daddy's Boy'

I didn't watch, was the player who got cut a high end rookie? Like a 1st rounder? Or some 5th/6th round kid (was this established)?

The NFL has generally been more protective of its image than any other league. The amount of money and clout the league has is otherworldly, and if its history with ESPN shows the league is very used to forcing what it wants.

Sometimes I think I can write a TV show. Not an average one, but maybe an above average one. One that lasts a few years on a smaller network, gets a decent fanbase, and becomes one of those shows that gets an occasional positive blurb in EW or something.

That's good, then. It just means I'm missing out on more stuff I'd probably enjoy.

These are the topics that a spit-balled during a group project at a college marketing course before the rest of the group goes, "no, that's fucking dumb."

I would say I have, but just have a different perception of it.
