Most of those WOW killers suffered from many issues.  One of the primary arguments of last standers is that WOW characters always seem to move in a more organic fashion.  So even though the colors are bright and sometimes a bit saturated, it still just feels more "right".

Give single player war gamers the option to create whatever character they want. Make multiplayer random each map, with percentages similar to real life men, women, and POC.

From reading this very well-written article, it sounds like very few people are without fault and “sides” are only drawn along lines of negativity. Nobody seems to actually be wholly in the right or even wholly in the wrong.
