One you could get is a used Lexus IS350. This ticks quite a few boxes:

I’ve had three Miatas, and switched to an AE86 when I got tired of driving a car where my kneecaps were always touching the dashboard. It gets old after a while.

While some of the other suggestions might work, you will miss having a convertible. What you need is a back seat and a big trunk. This is the car for you. It’s your Miata all grow up and with semi usable back seats for kids (you might squeeze one adult back there but they won’t be happy long.. V8, Leather, Woodgrain.

Younger talent has been hired. Cursing is on an upswing, along with short articles about how they think cars are cute and snuggly.

Honestly the Honda Civic Touring hits most of the criteria, except maybe price. But then you can always finance it. It’s quick with 0-60 in 6.9 seconds. It’s practical and spacious with an Accord-esque interior but not still small enough to feel sporty. Leather interior and many luxury options that come standard

I feel being a 27 year old, Miata driving, engineer that I am 100% qualified to answer this question. Also, adding to the above, I will also be in the market for a new car in mid to late 2018 when my wife and I start considering starting a family.

They are nice cars, I have a Fiesta ST with MR230 pack from Mountune. But I considered the Focus ST.

Incorrect. Awd 07 sienna with tow package and a 95 miata are all the answers.

I would add a late-model V6 mustang to the list for consideration. Low mileage examples, even with stick, can be had for less than 20k all day. The car is sporty with a generous trunk and usable back seats that adults can actually sit in (not something you can say for the BRZ.) It’s a great platform; the V6 makes

Hugely more reliable does not mean it is reliable though, given the starting point.

Tom & Stef can add me to the “not a fan boy of the Miata” gang. They’re fun to hoon [especially if it’s not yours] but that’s about it. Would not want to live with one.

;)

The ONLY possible reason a Miata might no longer be the answer is because you’re starting a family and need a car to haul the wife and three kids (with one more on the way). And that means that you need to buy a Honda Odyssey with built-in overhead entertainment system to keep the little rug rats in the back seat from

It seems that GTI is always the 2nd answer on here... not complaining, just observing

How can anyone recommend a BMW compared to a Mazda? Running cost differential? Wasn’t there a Jalopnik article abotu how all BMW engines are pieces of shit that will explode? “I want a reliable car...oh get a GERMAN SPORTS CAR, i HEAR them Japanese don’t make reliable stuff”

Acura TSX may be just what you’re looking for. (Tried posting a picture but kinja no likey)

Came here for FR-S/BRZ/whatever FRS is now called.

Did not leave disappointed.

My step-grandfather probably reminded me 30x that Hunter used to play for the Rams. He wasn’t senile. He just wanted to stop watching Hunter and segue into talking football. Or go to bed. But either way, he was cool as shit, RIP.

Come on guys, no love for Hill Street Blues?

Actually, I’m 38 and I lean closer towards Andrew when it comes to Airwolf’s being better than either of those other two. I’m all about the German synthesized scores, which is probably one of the reasons why Top Gun is my favorite movie
