You weren't trying to be helpful. Instead of trying to win a pissing match with me, why don't you just try stop being a dick?

it's a matter of taste innit? Christ knows why I'm even responding to you, since you just posted a list of every half-decent show that's ever been on telly (Pennies From Heaven?? Oh what an idiot I am for not factoring that in) and managed to do so in the most condescending way imaginable. Guess I should congratulate

What am I going to watch when this finishes? I'm down to old episodes of ren and stimpy and my twin peaks box set. Stupid HBO. Make more good shows!

As a huge admirer of the AV Club, I'm a little dismayed you haven't criticised the absolutely piss-poor nature of those GTA scripts. They've always been toe-curlingly duff, but last year's GTA 5 stuff with the middle-aged gangster seeing a shrink was like a fan fiction episode of The Sopranos written by Nathan Barley,

Top tune, awesome scene. Have a recommend.

so many fantastic songs from this band. How about Spanish Bombs, Hitsville UK, Washington Bullets…

I'm going to make an effort to avoid snarkiness, so I'll just say The Sopranos is my favourite television show of all times - saves a lot of additional explanation. I've been spoilt by the best, I guess.

Maybe I should stop watching this show. I moved from mild interest to outright dislike as that episode went on. I know even the greatest television has moments that don't stand up to scrutiny if you're looking for faults, but from Martin Freeman's ridiculous escapades to fish falling from the sky to molly improbably

thanks for the heads up, I'll stop now. This guy's argument is on a par with suggesting Tony Soprano is actually a wonderful guy cos if you look beyond the murders he likes ducks!

I guess the writers opted to ditch the politeness you're hankering for since it would have made for the most tedious line of dialogue imaginable.

Not really champ. I don't love every Coen brothers film - some of them leave me cold, in fact - but the ones I like never leave me bemused or outright irritated in the way that this show frequently does.

what the hell are you talking about?! She's not arrogant or condescending, she's obviously sweet for the most part and in that scene she was concentrating on getting her point across to a guy who'd given her the high hat previously. The writers had the phone conversation going on to make the scene more interesting,

The writers let Malvo be dumb enough to abduct a victim (that he planned to kill) in front of an office full of witnesses, making no effort to disguise his appearance and showing little concern for surveillance cameras. The writers evidently aren't bothered about realism, they're just concerned with spectacle -

i'm enjoying this series up to a point but a lot of the time it feels weird for the sake of being weird; contrived in a way that my favourite shows manage to avoid. That bit at the start with the socks felt like a dream, it was a bit too goofy to seem like something that would really happen, taking me out of the story

I like Coogs and obviously don't like Lady In Red, but as a selection this is almost as lacking in creativity as the composition itself innit? I'd prefer a feature where Steve talked about stuff he liked (kingsingers and Abba included).

"Magic helmet."

The use of music in those looney tunes cartoons was amazing too, love the theme that accompanies the merchant as he carries on on horseback, oblivious to daffy.

Patrick Suskind. I know everyone just thinks of Perfume when you mention Paddy, but I love everything the man's ever written and I want more of it. I'm also still holding out for a new Stone Roses album, though realistically I know that if it happened, it would probably be a disappointment.

Late to the discussion, but some folk are saying Meadows was the wrong guy to make this film - I'd argue he's the only one who could get this film made. The band probably wouldn't have bothered documenting their shows with any other director, look at their approach to press (they don't do it). I think the only reason
