I’m as liberal as they come and I am also an NCIS junky. It has a pretty liberal mindset with moments of conservatism thrown in. It’s very pro-military servicemen/servicewomen. They are very pro-gay as well. There was an episode back in the first season that was pretty transphobic but that was way back in 2003.

I want to see this but I’m always worried about animals in movies. If they get hurt or killed, I can’t help crying. I don’t care that it’s fake and the animal is really totally fine. I’m glad that all of the kitties were adopted.

My experience, as a biracial woman who knows a lot of white people, has been the exact opposite. I’v never known a white person to stay away from a movie, tv show, etc because a character was a person of color - I’ve known quite a few who stayed away because a character of color was played by a white person or because

And it’s not like there aren’t any talented Japanese actresses who could have filled this role. In regards to action movies, I think of the women from the two Wolverine movies, either Tao Okamoto or Rila Fukushima (also Katana in Arrow) could probably get the job done. Or for a bigger name they could have Devon Aoki,

Is there any hard proof that white people stay away from movies with non-white main characters? Or is it just an assumption made by producers. Because in my own personal experience as a white woman I’ve never avoided a film because the characters didn't share my skin colour.

Yellowface is yellowface even if it’s CGI.

No. They never learn.

Oh for sure. The Yellow Wallpaper gives a really harrowing glimpse of its deeply damaging effects.

The rest cure was actually pretty horrifying. Weeks-to-months in bed with NOTHING to do. No reading material, no visitors, nothing “stimulating,” no getting up to use the commode or bathe. NOTHING. Just the bed (usually in a hospital, so the room was sterile, too) and bland soups delivered by a nurse. Women who were

Yes, that’s certainly what I look like when I take to my bed. Especially all the flora.

No white person looks good in dreads. Our hair is way too slippery and fine for dreads to turn out nice. (Over all, I know hair textures can vary.)

Last week one of the girls from Teen Mom made headlines when she had her hair styled into dreadlocks. As soon as there was an outcry that this was cultural appropriation the masses of the internet came out to say there’s no such thing as cultural appropriation/ she was just admiring black culture/ PC culture has

More like a no pretty ethnicity-that-isn’t-Caucasian hair.

I see white girls with braids working at Zara every damn time I go to one. I’ll bet my ass there isn’t a “no braids” policy.

To hell with Zara, then!

I feel like a little while back there was also a reveal that they primarily targeted black and brown customers as potential “shoplifters” too. Zara is pretty racist all in all.

Her hair looks beautiful, and I can’t imagine what actual problem there could be with it. Zara have opened themselves up to some serious problems here I think. Unless they have an actual “no braids” policy, which I highly doubt they do.

Different tastes for different people.

That’s a damn shame, you missed out. Maybe your local library has some copies!

Hell, even without the discovery can we send Don Lemon to Mozambique anyways? And leave them there? Let’s make him Mozambique’s problem now.
