Well they’re all practically the same to Trump. ISIS, Taliban, Al Qaeda. They’re all just names to him that translate to “terrorist.”

I don’t think he even knows they are different enemies. In his mind it’s just terrorists and every terrorist is Muslim and from a predefined set of countries. He likely believes there is a sign somewhere in Afghanistan that says “shoot here to kill terrorists and win, win, WIN the war!”
