Neither does a fantasy draft, cause it’s not real.

“This is a bullshit joke, and you can’t prove anything! Some people just regrow all their hair!”

[Announces a safety can cover the field and make picks]

Couldn’t you argue the NFL draft is the same exact thing? Prancing them around all dressed up, talking about all their measurements, breaking down their strength/speed, and talking about any family history in athletics

“I’m all for freedom of speech, but these black guys are speaking in a way that makes me feel bad and guilty, and I don’t like feeling like that. Easiest solution is to shame them for speaking out.”

Maybe McGrath would feel more comfortable if the towel were a sheet instead.

It’s so bad. I’m so generally disappointed in humanity these days - to a degree I’d never imagined possible - that I’m relieved when people show me there IS a line in the sand for them. Like I’m like OMG THANK CHRIST THERE ARE STILL SOME PEOPLE WHO HATE NAZIS!

It’s remarkable how the only consistent thing Trump does is say the literal opposite of what’s true. Like a five-year-old could discern his motives if you just said “Okay here’s the game. Whatever he says is the opposite of what is true, and is almost always actually about himself. Now try it.”

His tweet is basically saying: “I read the script they gave me, but that’s still not good enough?! Fine, I’ll just lash out at my favorite target.”

The only thing that would be surprising would be the people who thinks otherwise.

This quote struck me. I’d like to be a reassuring voice that no, you are. This piece is evidence of it. Masterful, and thank you for writing.

Depressing that he has to qualify a simple gesture of his personal dismay by pledging fealty to the military and hot dog sandwiches. The military already gets close to a trillion dollars a year, they don’t need my undying devotion.

Anybody that says “both sides do it/equally to blame” knows that their position is indefensible and is too racist/chickenshit to concede the point

I absolutely agree. As a collective, Americans are prone to falling for style over substance. Pence knows that and caters to it well. He’s certainly savvier than Trump.

What a tool. It wasn’t just that Trump refused to condemn them. It was that he set up his comments in a way that it was clear he thought that racists and people who don’t like racists were equally wrong.
