The transmission is behind the engine (duh, I know), and has the diff and outputs for the front axles built into it, so it had to be put way up there. Almost all Audis are this way. Also why pretty much all Audis understeer like crazy.

Exactly, it’s likely that is what they were testing. Brake bias and ABS tunes. Rears locked up way before the fronts and there wasn’t much the drive could do after that.

I used to work on H-60 helos in the Navy. This is definitely a mechanical failure. Either a hydraulic actuator failure, or a pushrod for controlling the pitch on the rotor blades.
