I honestly thought it was just me who felt this way... it’s so frustrating as a Black woman who has supported the root since the beginning, reading the odd pro Biden anti Bernie posts, and then having my comments about it disappear in the greys. It feels like the root doesn’t care about all of our opinions.

Because many women have been taught - often by their own mothers and female peers but sometimes by partners - that their natural smell is unattractive and unladylike.

I get the point of the article, but that’s not why I’m here. Anytime I see or read about these products, I have one question. Why does any female buy products for cleansing their vaginas?

Okay, so I’m a white lady from the incredibly diverse state of Wyoming and I was delighted by the ad. I didn’t feel discriminated against at all, because I understand how racism works. Goddamn, we shouldn’t have to placate fragile White Feelings and put them at the forefront when the goal is to empower girls and women

the whole clan is a bunch of mutants, and it upsets me that this is the yardstick to which beauty is measured. All I can hope is that history does not remember them fondly.

This country needs to have a real conversation about creating an age cap. We have an age minimum for a reason. Anyone with parents in their 70s knows how insane this election is. We also know that when Reagan began declining during his second term, his administration successfully hid that shit from the public. Imagine

Are we still gonna push this “Russian interference” even at the Root? Like, they might have bots out there stirring the pot, but Russia didn’t invent racism. “Russian interference” has, since jump, been white-speak for “We don’t know how we let ourselves elect Trump.”

Thank you. As an almost 40 year old Black woman, I feel gaslit constantly by this idea that advocating for my own respect is somehow disrespectful to Black men. This piece is great.

Hopefully a movie can be made about his life. If Harvey Milk’s story can be made, so can Bayard Rustin’s.  Doesn’t have to be the biggest budget ever.  A lot of people in our communities still know nothing about him.

i can accept that both the music and fashion are simply not “my thing” (except her hair, which i actually really like), but i’m unable to see the profound brilliance in her words and every move that so many other people gush about when her name comes up. i think it’s fine that she’s not 100% eloquent and perfect all

I refer to her as “William Eilish” to my daughters and always say it in a heavy...heavy Scottish accent. They hate it. I love it.

Have you watched Great News? Nicole Richie is perfect on that. I like the whole cast, but casting her was [chef’s kiss].

Paris Hilton was an omen none of us heeded.

It’s leaving me feeling poorly about Jez as well. The nickname plays into horrible stereotypes, and the fact that a feminist website is using to talk about a feminist is frankly disgusting.  Yes, she’s rich, yes she married royalty, but she is still a woman fighting for other women, and being bashed left and right

How about using Sussexit instead of Megxit.

Ive been single for so long I really dont feel like I can happily live with someone without a buffer zone. I need my own space and am comfortable with being living by myself. I feel separate bedrooms are an absolute minimum if I'm ever living with someone. Sharing damn near every single square foot of a house would

Different societies have different gender norms, stereotypes, expectations, taboos, etc. Something that’s considered typically masculine in one place can be seen as typically feminine in another. Or during another time in history. A society develops ideas about what is considered feminine and masculine, as well as

I get that he’s the Pope of the people and all that, but he still doesn’t deserve to be grabbed—he’s not public property. Because if some guy had grabbed a woman like that, and she had slapped his hand away, we’d probably think it was OK, right?

I mean, NC actually has a Dem governor and AG. They’ve done pretty well statewide. It’s the gerrymandered-to-hell districts (which I think were recently struck down?) that have been the problem.

I just call myself “prickly.”
