I guess I just don’t see that as a benefit. That’s payment for services rendered, and not exactly stellar payment at that. You get $20k/yr. for college, some rent, and no real control over your future for a while... and if you screw up, you’re basically marked for life.

One benefit is that the military will PAY for that higher education via the GI Bill, which is why poorer students are targeted and enlist at higher rates than any other class.

One of the major things behind the push against free college is the fact that the military would lose this particular carrot, which has been

My sister is married to a recruitment manager type in the Marines, and it definitely sounds like they are told “You feed the beast X number of young people, or your military career is over”.  The impression I got was that no one really wants to do recruitment, but once you’re assigned to it you either start

if you’re in high school.. aren’t you overqualified for the us army?

Our home and native land!

I saw this movie for the first time recently.

KANEDAAAAAAAA!

TETSUOOOOOOOO!

His facade is very nice.

He probably pulls the wings off flies in his spare time.

He’s a CEO, though. Once you get to a C-level job, you’re supposed to be able to handle the human side of your company with more tact than this.

There he is everyone! It’s “that guy”!

He didn’t say no when she asked for a raise. He fired her. That’s not normal.

Billionaires being billionaires? Let’s be real here ... nice people don’t become billionaires.
