I’m not obsessed with the $$$ aspect, the cryptobros are. and you cannot have trustless interaction in a stable enconomy without a central authority. you need a central authority to back the currency and ensure that fraud isn’t happening. in the world of crypto currency fraud is rampant.

I like how you talk about “trustless interaction without needing a central authority” and government regulation in the space of two comments. Your bubble is bursting and you’re grasping at straws. NFTs are still useless garbage to anyone who isn’t a scammer and likely always will be.

This.

They didn’t have a scandal involving a governor to distract from before.

the funniest part of all this is that you think crypto has real value. it’s a big pyramid scheme. you have to trick somebody into thinking that your worthless asset has value and then the next person has to trick somebody else into thinking that it’s worth more than what they paid. if nobody is dumb enough to pay more

Was wondering where one of Kotaku’s premier cryptosimps was. Why so late to the party? Too busy trying to pretend that stuff like this, the recent hacks, the F1 game shutting down etc haven’t taken a big fat dump on the claims you and yours have been making about NFTs?

Can they though? No they can’t. As we’re seeing now with the scaling of the crypto economy, that ideal has always been and will always be a pipe dream. The complexity of any currency economy is such that direct involvement is both inefficient and, in the majority of cases, actually undesirable, the need for mediators

once more Dan goes into significantly more detail about how blockchain works (and why it doesn’t work) than every single cryptobro on the planet.

if your metric is quality of quantity then Dan wins again. he goes into more detail about how blockchain works (and why it doesn’t work) than every single cryptobro on the planet.

As someone who scoffs at NFTs, I found the video useful and informative. He at least attempts an objective and clear argument. I’m ultimately unconvinced in the viability of static image ownership but maybe there is something to be said for render and more complex art especially for licensing purposes as he noted for

Now playing

I really enjoy this one as well. Both are well worth the time to watch.

Gatekeeping may not be the intent of the difficulty, but it is a consequence, and I’m sure the people who need to tap community resources to make the game easier have an appropriate appreciation that, yes, these guys are extremely powerful. At the very least, they will appreciate the lore more than the people who get

I’ve seen this before and it is spectacular.

I love how this cuts through the bullshit people use to explain what a blockchain is.

I think you missed the big take away from that video. Dan talks about how the Qanon conspiracy theorists are calling for a “Great Awakening” where all of Trump’s enemies would be arrested and charged with their crimes or whatever. then Dan talks about how Qanon has just become a hardcore accelerationist group. meaning

I’m not going anywhere.

Came here to post this, but then I remembered that kobalt77 is here, and kept scrolling instead. Glad to see you’re still with us.
