I owned a ‘67 Sunbeam Alpine with wire wheels in Phoenix Az. Dirt cheap to work on. Parts were less expensive than the equivalent VW parts I was more familiar with. Fun to drive, easy to work on. However I bought it in the winter and didn’t notice until summer that the heater was stuck thoroughly in the ON condition.

Well, I also have a ‘92 F350 longbed dually crewcab that is at 189k miles and has the 460 in it! Is that close enough?

Here is a list of vehicles I sold (still running) and their mileage:
1980 VW Vanagon Westfalia @ 300k miles
1983 Toyota Camry @ 350k miles
1991 Toyota Previa @ 350k miles
2006 Toyota Prius @ 300k miles

I add rock salt and vinegar to water bottles (that can’t go in the dish washer) get slimy. Shake it to abrade the walls.

Yeah, a lot of the broadcast sucks big time, again. We have Dish and set it to record all Olympics on all channels. Of course Dish missed some. Not sure if it is Dish or the broadcast, but we miss parts of events, miss the endings of others. The Technical Direction is often bad (they decide what is broadcast and

As an owner of a ‘67 VW Squareback since ‘78 I heartily endorse this idea!

In an article about position of hand relative to phone why no actual pictures of the positions discussed? Same goes for sex positions BTW.

Just the basics can be a pain. Changing the oil in a ‘99 4Runner means that the oil falls onto a cross member which it then travels to other members spilling onto the floor in several places. Experienced shops have a piece of v-shaped metal to route the oil into the container. Stupid design.

The stove is an MSR XGK backpacking stove, which is a really robust and versatile stove. It will burn just about anything that can burn, including avgas, diesel, thin oil, white gas, and more. Excellent choice.

I wonder what the result would have been if Beatty had reacted by turning quickly with an elbow into the gut?

Thus when I reach for a recipe card and it doesn’t have weight, I measure by whatever it calls for, weigh it, and add it to the recipe.

What? Nothing about a really good tool for this task? Usually obtained as a freebie from insurance companies and such. They usually have some advertising on one side. Behold, a letter opener! I use this same tool for cutting wrapping paper as well. Insert under the corner and slide across the top neatly opening said

What about the opposite? In the initial episodes of In Plain Sight, Mary McCormack’s character drives a POS smoking purple Ford Probe that frequently wouldn’t start. Ford didn’t like that, so it was only there a short time. I don’t know what they replaced it with.

Let me guess, Murkowski has no problem supporting SC candidates that are unqualified and exceptional in the negative sense though as long as they were white.

This may not apply to apartment or city dwellers, but we have a hybrid and when the power goes out, we use it to provide power to the important things via extension cords. Some hybrids won’t work. We have a 1200 watt inverter that attaches to the 12v battery to power the important things. Router/modem, mini-fridge for

I tried Rust Valley and lasted I think two episodes. The segment where they had to replace some piece of unusual shape, then it magically appeared sealed it for me. What I want to see is HOW they did stuff, not that they did it. Garbage, but in a pretty place.

Singers are a dime a dozen and good ones can be found everywhere. Over-the-top overly-excited hosts are about a nickle a dozen and can be found anywhere.

Really, really needs the sound effects from The Great Race. Professor Fate to the rescue, or rather Max actually.

Speaking of cleats, this is a pet peeve of mine. Humans have centuries of experience behind the design of a simple cleat for tying things down. However over the past 100 years, vehicle designers have decided that cleats don’t work and went ahead to design all sorts of gizmos to attach ropes to that are nowhere near as

When my great-grandparents emigrated from England to the US, the seven kids took different approaches to their accent. The oldest few deliberately tried to keep their English accents, while the youngest few actively worked to be rid of theirs. The middle ones were wishy-washy about theirs. It was interesting when they
