After spending way too much time trying to remove a bumper sticker from a to-be-sold Subaru, I finally hit on the idea of heat. I did not have a heat gun at the time. A hot-air popcorn maker worked really well.

After driving a ‘06 Prius for 300k miles, it finally broke, so I bought a ‘20 AWD Prius to replace it. Much better interior and I have used the AWD in the snow and it works great. The only, and I mean only, thing I had to modify was the height of the driver door arm rest. That was also a problem with the ‘06. This…
The Granton edge is useless and does nothing better than a knife without it. Have one, don’t use it much except that it has a shape better for some things. The Granton edge never comes into play whether to use it or not. Wasted money on that knife.
We have been making the roughly 700 trip from home to other family members a few times per year from roughly Sacramento to Seattle. Our newest vehicles can make it with only one gas fillup, so 600 miles of range is a real desire.
I don’t recall disguised trucks having the skirt at the tail end. To me they are obviously trying to hide the rear end drive train. What could that be? If it was a traditional rear end there would be no need to hide it. Electric perhaps without the rear differential? They are hiding something there.
Long ago I was riding my motorcycle and stopped at a light. There was a basic van in the turn lane ready to turn left, but the light was red. A Corvette pulled up behind the van slowly, but didn’t stop. It kept creeping slowly until the front of the Corvette went under the hitch mount of the van and kept going…
However, the jump after the finish on Die Cast Racing does count, so there’s that.
Well, I am THAT person who notices whether there are one or two spaces after a period and the occasional two spaces between a word (blasphemy!).
Yep, been there done that, but vice grips are much better.
I just tried this on my Android phone and pressing the volume button shoots photos in a burst mode. It took 13 photos very quickly. Double clicking on the Home button opens the camera and the red button is there for video. Quick and simple. I do have an old phone, so perhaps the methods in the article don’t work on my…
For really good, but heart wrenching book about a victim of a car hitting a professional cyclist during training, read “Degloved” by Adelaide Perr. This kind of aggression and deliberate attacks on cyclists is not only traumatizing both the victim and others and is seldom taken seriously by law enforcement. Victims…
This is a start at rebuilding generational wealth. But let’s not be too quick here. The new owners will START one hundred years behind. This DOES NOT recover the lost generational wealth, only allows it to start. What the resort would have done for the black community during the last hundred years and the wealth it…
My spouse has been leasing SUVs for a very long time trying to decide on which to eventually buy. Mercedes, Lexus, Hyundai, Acura, Mazda, and maybe at least one other I forget. While up to this point the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport was at the top spot, but they upped the features, dropped the Sport, and raised the price…
Um, call out the Hell’s Angels to provide security at schools and such?
When we had out Previa we often turned the second row seats to face backwards or removed it entirely. This provided massive legroom for the early teens and their friends getting to travel in limo mode!
Long ago there was a car rental place at the Redmond OR airport named Rent-A-Wreck. A pilot friend flew all six of us down there from Boeing field with our x-country ski gear for a weekend of skiing in the Mt. Bachelor area.
At a local foreign car show a ‘67 Jag E-type convertible in my favorite color (blue) was there. I take lots of pictures at car shows and watching me take photos of the dash, the owner invited me to sit in it. What glorious car, but owning two old vehicles already, I know the maintenance needed, and a Jag would just be…
Heat shrink will ONLY work on audio cables like the one shown in the link. The ends of almost all other cables are too large to get the unshrunk shrink wrap over.
Dems need to promise Sinema & Manchin that they will pass ANYTHING they want in exchange for dumping the filibuster and voting with Dems on everything. Increase the Supreme Court, pass the voting laws, pass the infrastucture stuff. Get things done NOW and quit letting the Repubs stall things forever.
