And hilariously there are still people who are against body cams. The only reasoning I’ve ever seen anyone use is “they’ll just turn them off” and like, make that a punishable offense then?? There’s literally no reason not to want police officers to have body cams unless you are overtly against holding them

The amount of outright lying exposed by cops since the invention of the bodycam is truly startling. They know they are being recorded, and yet still lie constantly and commit crimes, to the point that basically anything before, say 2010 or thereabouts, we should assume all the cops lied all the time, about everything.

Musk is an actual fucking nazi.  NOBODY should buy a tesla.  FUCK that POS.

I believe that it's possible to hold both these examples as bad at the same time. We don't need to 'both sides' this.

Absolutely correct. This is a policy failure.

People should think about how they would perform basic tasks if they suddenly lost the ability to drive. We’ve spent over a century building a society around the idea that being able to drive yourself somewhere is a trivial bar to get over, but not everyone can, and we can do a lot better to accommodate such people

Yea? Read the history of the great American steel industry if you want to see what happens to industries that hide behind government import bans and subsidies. Know any steel factory workers? I don’t.

Why not let Chinese companies setup shop here and let American workers (like yourself) turn the wrenches? When that suggestion comes up, people usually start talking about job-stealing and information hackery and all that jazz. Where does it end? Can you imagine how much surplus resources all countries would have if

I get it that you don’t want to lose your job. Nobody wants to lose their job. But why is your particular job sacred? What about the people working in the garment industry? Why weren’t they protected? What about the people who used to build furniture? Why weren’t they protected? The people assembling computers? The

That’s the thing — banning Chinese cars already is a change to policy, so clearly we’re not against making those. We’re just against making good ones, apparently, that would set up our auto industry and its workers to compete on the world stage. A GM or Ford that can only sell within the United States is a lot less

Now playing

I’m on your side about the folks here who build cars — the long-term risks of not making vehicles that can compete in the global market are very real and need to be considered. Harley-Davidson is a great example, with its turn to tariffs and protectionist policy instead of actually building globally competitive bikes c

Damn, so Chinese EVs are affordable because the country’s government invested in making clean transport accessible to its citizens? How evil. I’m so glad we don’t do that here, outside of the billions in subsidies for EV retooling (https://www.energy.gov/articles/biden-harris-administration-announces-nearly-2-billion-s

Anyone ever notice how this really only happens with Asian products? (also, I noticed they tossed in Russian cars here to stop the overwhelming flow of... what, exactly?)

There seems to be so much wrong with that Vegas Loop system.

Remember this: rich people are rich people first and whatever else they are is a distant second.

Is it just the wheels he likes??? Those are cool wheels, but, come on...

Why would you take away the $7500 incentive. That would make it worse.

It’s fucking crazy, right?

I brought home a 2-meter long dining table from IKEA in my Fit.
