Not really. I dislike the idea of forgiveness necessarily being indicative of a greater emotional maturity. If she’s found closure through forgiveness, that’s fine for her personally, but it shouldn’t be forced on anyone. It’s a victim’s right to stay angry.

I completely agree. Jon Stewart expressed something similar once when he said something along the lines of “Yeah, sometimes I do wish the death penalty existed because if it was up to me, I’d probably kill some of those monsters. But thank god it’s not up to me!”
