I'm from PA. Near suburban Philadelphia. While I tend to agree with you about DC, DC is a shit show at all times, from all types, from all places. It almost gets a pass because it's so consistently bad. Though its proximity to VA may have something to do with it. ;)

I have one but they are illegal in VA. Mine gets unplugged and hidden just before crossing into VA.

It's all about money and nothing else in VA. Safety is a lie. I still haven't had a worse experience just driving than going through Virginia in terms of driving standards and lane discipline on the east coast. That includes Florida which is its own special hell.

It's still good practice to check once a month at least.
