I had a MK4 1.8T keep up with my stage 2+ APR MK5 to 120. I was impressed! I’m sure the T/FSI engines and platform has more potential but the lack of DI on the 1.8T makes it infinitely easier and cheaper to mod. A K04 or GTXX  ball bearing, bigger injectors, big fuel pump and that thing would fly.

I think that looks really good honestly.

The 4th gen V6 Mustang is an untapped resource for fun RWD goodness. Cheap as balls and easy to swap engines....all the good Mustang suspension aftermarket and wheel/tire combos. You could swap a 4.8 Vortec junkyard motor with a big ebay turbo into one for next to nothing including the price of the car...
