I had a super clean ‘90 Si with a fresh JDM B20 high compression swap, B16 trans with brand new Action 4 puck un-sprung clutch and Fidanza 7 pound flywheel, brand new HasPort mounts, new axles, brand new Toda rep header, Skunk2 throttle body, K Sport Kontrol coilovers, Skunk2 camber kit front and rear, Skunk 2…

I had one. It was funnish... Kept throwing and chewing belts, even after new tensioner and idlers. AC controls broke. Interior was super cheap, thin plastic...coupled with solid mounts made the whole interior buzz. The engine had almost NOTHING before 4500 RPM.

I like the MK5 Golfs myself. They seem still relevant design wise.
