There appeared to be other officers there first and they were just standing there watching. No weapons drawn, not intervening. Just standing. Seems like they could have tried to break up the altercation.

He could have pulled any of his other options instead of a gun. He could have not pulled any weapon. He could have shot fewer times. Any of these things would have reduced the likelihood of killing someone.

The main issue with shooting center mass is accuracy. Cops are notoriously bad shots. Look into any officer involved shooting that is involves more than 1 or 2 shots being fired and you’ll see most of the shots missed. Officers get shot in friendly fire situations all the time. Bystander get hit also. Private property…

I honestly can’t believe that a cop wouldn’t be fired just for endangering the girl in pink. That many shots at that range with the target and bystander in that close of proximity.  It’s a damn miracle she wasn’t hit also.

Facts:

Allow someone to be stabbed and attempt to stop the attack with the other officers on the scene is preferable to plugging someone with multiple rounds while ALSO putting the other person in imminent danger of gun shot wounds.

Totally understand how dangerous a knife is, but a gun is more dangerous. A stabbing and a 12 hour surgery is preferable to a dead person.  

There were a lot of good options.

This has been my main argument for gun control. If you continue to just yell about the 2nd amendment and do nothing to fix the problem, the next generation isn’t going to compromise.
