I’m pretty sure there have to be people who do method acting for nice characters, but those stories don’t attract nearly as much attention as people acting crazy/like an asshole. Case in point: Daniel Day Lewis is probably the most famous method actor yet the most disruptive thing he did was possibly make other people…

Does anyone ever do this months in advance method shit for characters that aren’t creeps? Or is that actually fairly common and we only hear about the Joker and serial killer ones because someone thinks this works as an advertisement?

It’s just a thoughtless “moral” standpoint. It seems somewhat reasonable on its face (whereas the obsession with the Wilde/Darling stuff was just a big wtf) but falls apart under two seconds of scrutiny.

I don’t get it. 99% of people have no idea what Dahmer’s gait looked like or what his voice sounded like. Nobody’s going to watch this and be like “that’s a Kenosha accent, not a Milwaukee one! This guy’s a fraud!”

Yeah, doesn’t Murphy know that you should only make stories about real people if everyone directly or indirectly related to that person approves of it? What does he think he is, some kind of artist?

We need to stop whatever Ryan Murphy is doing. We as a society let him go too far.
