I expect they didn’t want to confuse people into thinking they were seeing some sort of Multiverse crossover with Ang Lee’s Hulk.

He definitely fought in WWII, depending on whether or not you choose to ignore the existence of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Shoot, even Stephen Lang. Ross is a gruff unforgiving general in the comics. Ford is too old.
I wish they would’ve let General Ross die offscreen. Not out of respect to William Hurt, just because the I dislike the character. Why bother with Harrison Ford, however, when you could bring back Sam Elliot’s moustache?
Stephen Lang. Scott Bakula. Bryan Cranston. William Petersen, Mark Harmon. Ted Danson. Jeff Daniels. Kelsey Grammer (unless you’re keeping that club in your bag for a Beast cameo)
The list before I got to Ford - who will be 82 during filming - is pretty long.
This is a terrible idea. The only time Harrison Ford should be in a Captain America movie is as Indiana Jones in flashback scenes fighting alongside Steve Rogers in WW2.
Ford was great in a lot of roles, but it seems like lately he has seemed disinterested in acting and *particularly* disinterested in acting in franchises (though he has done that a fair amount). He is a massive name, but I am sure there are plenty of other people who would take that role (Sam Elliot did it once upon a…
“The actor for Ross got old and died!”
I mean technically Claudia Wells replaced Melora Hardin, so there’s a history of that happening!
Yeah after dumping Macchio she assassinated and replaced Claudia Wells and no one even said anything!
On the bright side, it seems likely that Shue getting dumped from the Karate Kid franchise helped keep her from getting pigeonholed in that role. In the six years after Karate Kid, Shue was in Adventures in Babysitting, Cocktail, and two Back to the Future movies. I’m not sure you’d have seen the producers of Leaving…
I will not see Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo or the Zoolander sequel!
There’s also a dash of laziness that’s driving decisions like this. It’s much easier to write about a boy and a girl meeting for the first time and seeing that puppy love move forward than it is to write something interesting about people who’ve been a couple for a little bit of time, especially involving Ali who was…
Not that I think the Austin Powers movies were any particularly high moment in the history of cinema, but I think at least there they were parodying the Bond films, where the female leads change every film with almost no explanation.
It’s good they at least recognized and admitted to how shitty it was to do that to Shue’s character, especially since it was just one in a loooong list of different movie franchises where a female character was written out/killed off-screen to give the male protagonist a new love interest to pursue (see: both of the…
“It was an honor to have Dame Lansbury on board to play the movie’s surprise killer. Oh wait, I probably shouldn’t have mentioned that.”
“‘I thought the issues I’m trying to address are so important… I wanted to have my issues talked about in some wayʼ”
Mark Strong’s put on weight.
I’d be ok if they were critical of his video! My beef was mostly the “no person... should ever” followed by “except for her, which is fine.” Pick a lane, ya know?
Yeah. While I don’t think this stunt demonstrates Itkis should be elected, it is probably an important step towards normalizing sex work and it’s participants.
