Isn’t EVERY horror franchise great when they go into space? Leprechaun and Jason certainly benefitted from their trips into outer space.

I completely agree that the 2nd half is much weaker than the first. I really enjoy the expansion of the lore in a way that makes sense and gives purpose to a lot of things that were kind of arbitrary in the past entries. However, the 2nd half kind of devolves into a typical generic kind of horror movie. I have a

Kind of sad that the reboot strips the queer subtext away, since that really was what differentiated the Hellraiser films (at least the first two) from most of the other 80s slasher/horror icon franchises.

This is a film about psychic wounds made physical”

I did not enjoy those, but I appreciate someone liking them; I too, have enjoyed certain, lesser, “in space” horror sequels.

I watched The Night House recently and thought it was fantastic, and the trailer for this shows Leviathan, so I’m excited to give it a watch and see what they do with all the mythology.

Jamie Clayton is actually closer to how the character that was Pinhead in the novella was described in terms of appearance and possible gender (though neither were specifically stated, I believe).

Remember when we were all “Oh man, something big’s gonna happen with Dottie” and then really nothing did?

As one person with MS to another:  it must be bunnies. Bunnies are evil. Twitchy little noses and the harbingers of doom. That said though - the good thing about MS is that the research into this fucking shitty disease (seriously, it’s shit having MS) is constantly evolving. It doesn’t say which type of MS she has,

Ugh, that’s awful. But nice to hear she’s coming back for the Agatha show.

You’re telling me Jon Hamm and Bradley Cooper wouldn’t have done this if Judd asked? C’mon.

it’s easily the best movie Ang Lee movie”

I’d think they could have framed it within the context of some other macho genre movie.  Using Brokeback would actually have felt lazy.  I like the title, though.

And I’m sure gay POC, women, etc. may not find themselves in this movie either.

How is this a puff piece? Like what about it specifically seems to be disingenuously misrepresenting the film’s quality?

There’s undoubtedly a mix of reasons. In my mini-sample of 3 gay friends I happened to speak to over the weekend, one saw it, one will watch anything Marvel/scifi but has never seen a romcom that I know of and had no plans to watch, and the third loves romances and the Hallmark channel but thinks Billy Eichner is too

Come on, one of the leads of Brokeback tragically died at a young age. No one is going to want to come off as making fun of Heath Ledger, huge potential downside for little to no upside.

Kudos to the marketing team on this film, continuing to pay for puff pieces like this even after the film flops at the BO.

I think any actors that would have appeared in the “Treasure Inside” scenes would have been lauded. And actors love that shit. So no lauding for them.

I can’t help but think that may have been a little TOO on-the-nose. I am glad we’re all past pretending Brokeback Mountain was high art. Like, it’s easily the best movie Ang Lee movie, but that’s like saying Equilibrium is the best Kurt Wimmer movie or Postal is the best Uwe Boll movie.
