Yeah, season 4 just didn’t feel like AD. Luckily they fixed that for season 5 which I think is actually really good.

I mean, Fuller House lasted 4 seasons.

I would add that the Arrested Development reboot sucked for a very specific reason. They were too cheap / everyone was too busy to film at the same time for more than like a day. That lead to the terrible “this is a Gob episode” format.

You totally missed an opportunity to close that statement with a “Dumbass!”

But did those revivals star Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp?

They are probably looking at the full house reboot not arrested development but okay.

Think they’ll remember Donna has a younger sister (whom funnily enough was ALSO on Orange is the New Black)?

His brother looks a lot like him, if he grows out the Jew Fro, or whatever that is on his head.

Netflix seeing the resounding “meh” to the Arrested Development revival almost a decade later:

Oh cool, reviving dead sitcoms has never backfired or been disappointing before!

The Goldbergs is That ‘80s Show.

I think the problem is the diminishing returns of the format they found. They were pretty blatantly riding a cycle of “let’s repackage nostalgia as quickly as we think people will buy it”. What little characterization that could be done on the original 70s version quickly minimized on their show and became the “LOOK!

Yeah the 70's show was pretty damn zany, and worth watching. I laughed a lot.

You can’t really compare the two. The 70s were mostly scenery for That 70s Show. Love or hate the show, you have to admit it focused on it’s characters for the humor.

In retrospect, it’s kind of surprising That ‘80s Show didn’t last long. It was just as awful as That ‘70s Show, perhaps moreso, and 80s nostalgia was becoming huge at that point.

Thanks, Jodie.

I wish you well in  your next endeavor.

That trailer was certainly....
