Spiderman has never been an asshole in the comics. He is witty, he is funny, and you end up liking him because he makes you laugh and you can relate to him. But he was never a prick. With that mugger in the trailer, he comes off as an unlikeable asshole.

No, it makes fun of a really crappy movie with a nonsensical plot. In fact, I would say Cowboys and Aliens requires a short attention span and is exactly made for people who like movies with robot testicles because that is how much sense Cowboys and Aliens made.
