The marketing campaign WAS horrible but that is not why the movie is failing. The movie is failing because it just really is not that memorable. So those "legs by word of mouth" that Charlie talked about never materialized because what other people are hearing from people who DID go is that it is just an "ok" movie…
"complicated"? You mean to say "muddled mess of story arcs that go nowhere".
Honestly, I don't blame the marketing. How does one describe the plot of John Carter in 30 seconds to an audience that has never heard of the character before? I tried to explain the plot(s) to a friend of mine to get them interested and I couldn't explain it in 30 seconds and I've seen the damn movie.
Do they have matinees there? Because that is how I saw John Carter. On a US $6 Saturday noon showing.
It was definitely not shit.......but it was not gold either.
It is really an unfair comparison to compare John Carter to the Lorax. Lorax is a kid's movie, the ONLY kid's movie right now, so it is not surprising at all that it is breaking records. Why wouldn't it? It doesn't even need to be good to succeed, it just needs to....exist....and parents will take their shrieking…
Dude, I watched 21 Jump Street this weekend and it is actually really good and a really well-written parody. Don't instantly judge it as Jersey Shore.
...........chains?

I totally get that and I completely agree. She is the new Hayden Christiansen. But, I'll see this movie for Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth and what look to be some awesome action scenes. I'll just have to pretend she is isn't there.
Wow! That actually looks really damn good. I hate Kristen Stewart but I'll push that hate to the side for this.
I fell so behind this season. I had been religious about seeing it every week since Season 1, until this season just turned me off. I haven't seen the last 10 episodes. I've pledged to catch up when it comes to DVD.
I would absolutely love that, actually. I strongly second this motion!
I'd rather that than the campy facepalm-a-rama that were the two live-action sequels.
Tramp stamps appear on the lower back, not the chest.
