Most people do not recover from trauma without treatment. With treatment, some do. Plenty of people with severe ptsd have normal lives - work, go to school, friends, etc. But the trauma hangs over them and effective treatment makes it easier to live with the trauma.

No. The problem was that she leaked a lot of documents that involved the names of Iraqi and Afghani civilians. From what I have read, no one was killed as a result, but a lot of people were worried. I suppose in the end it was worth it, but so many people were exposed.
