    Same. Didn’t even question it

Couldn’t someone not take part in native cultural traditions because their native ancestors chose not to participate and chose not to pass their culture on to their children? Like I have met a few people who have found out they are Eastern European Jews - they just didn’t know it. And this is because their ancestors

Straight girl here and I have literally read Playboy for the articles. Rreallu good reporting. Same with Esquire. And Cosmo used to have really great short stories published.

I don’t know why I talk to her anyway.

I don’t think Alicia Silverstone is stupid or lacking in critical thought. I’ve heard way too many anti-vaxxers speak about why they don’t vaccinate their children. It is pure arrogance and a serious lack of consideration for others. Arrogance because they KNOW what is best for their kids, better than any doctor

What was so incredible about Clueless was that it was by and for girls in a way that was not specifically trying to appeal to guys. I think Bridesmaids and Mean Girls are the only other movies like it.

Hmm. But somehow the Kardashians continued on.

So first quick question, when we use the term “-American,” is it for people who moved to the US from another country, or their children? Because I grew up with a lot of people whose parents were from India and Pakistan, and I went to college with people who were from India and Pakistan, and growing up in the States

It is scary that we talk about how Six Feet Under still holds up. But then i realize it went off the air over 10 years ago and then I feel ancient. I haven’t watched it since it went off the air though.

I was very, very thin. Hospitalized. Great hair, great skin. What drove me crazy and makes me angry to this day is that you have models and actors THAT thin, celebrated for it, paid a fortune for it. And there are people in a hospital looking the same way. How does that not completely fuck with your head?

Yup. My step-cousins in Israel are a gay couple who used an egg from a woman in South Africa and their surrogate was a woman in Thailand. So my Moroccan cousin has a blond-haired, blue-eyed baby. It feels so exploitative. But I guess they have a child and the Thai woman has money for her family?

I sort of felt bad for her because, you know, she is pregnant. But then at the same time, she became famous because she was the hot daughter of a lawyer. And she maintained her fame through accentuating her hotness. I feel bad for her for having a difficult pregnancy. That is it.

I mean, I guess if the teenagers who follow her become aware of the dangers pregnancy can present, then great. But I am fucking furious at myself for commenting on this article. I seriously cannot believe she is famous for 10 years now because her dad was a lawyer.

Isn’t that xenophobia more than racism?

They’ve removed self-checkout at the CVS I sometimes go to and I spoke to the manager at another and he said they are not going to add self-checkout to new stores

I think it is because all the Armenians I have known have considered themselves European, when I learned about Armenia in school, it was considered Europe. So in my mind, on the map, Armenia was west of Turkey.

    Fair point.

They are both considered white on the census but I don’t know any Iranians who consider themselves white or are treated as such. It is likely ex and me. We are both Jews, he is Israeli, as is my mom. His grandparents were from a Iraq and mine were from Eastern Europe. We were treated like an interracial

But Armenia is considered Europe, not the Middle East. It is all arbitrary.

Armenia is not the Middle East. Why are so many people saying this? Kim K and her full biological sisters are 100% European, WASP on their mom’s side.
