Yes. I’m only allowed to complain about one thing per year, and this is my thing.
This story was given credence, on the news, in 2016. That dead people’s hair might be, could be, definitely, is cursed. 2016.
I understand Janelle Monáe’s perspective, but I don’t like that tweet.
It irks me as well. People lived segregation, day in and day out. Strong, resilient, passionate people. They didn’t tweet how their sass would have ‘been the death of them’, it was real and in their face.
Damn straight!
So glad Rock was able to work rape and lynching into a joke!
Know who agrees with you? Chris fucken Rock:
“Yeah they could speak for themsevles - if they were fucking invited.” ever got fucking jobs in movies
So I guess Malcolm X dying in the arms of Yuri Kochiyama is other races doing the least?
Except Asians were slaves in America... the entire railway was done with forced Asian labor. And forced into mining during the gold rush.
Because America’s treatment of Asians has been so much better? Like the Chinese slaves who were brought in to build the railroads and mine for gold and precious metals on sites bought by white companies.
Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany’s?
Nailed it. Tiff216G’s comment was hilarious.
Chinese people were marching in New York last week against the conviction of an officer that killed an unarmed black man. But now it’s black people’s responsibility to advocate on their behalf?
No kidding. I guess the next time a Hispanic hosts the Oscars he or she can raise the point. Because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a black host and a white host and a woman host. But Hispanic (or Asian)... not so much.
The Weeknd low-key dying was the best part of this.
It's sad how shocked I am that an Asian woman has ever won an academy award.
I’m black and I think that’s a really absurd way of thinking about the push for diversity. It’s incredibly limiting to think that each person should only fight for the success of and draw attention to the struggles of the group they belong to.
it is true. I am glad he acknowledged the ridiculous aspect of boycotting the oscars when there are other things, including the racism rampant through out hollywood to be concerned about.
