That was my point: the patriarchy created this guy. And its all of our faults. He had parents and teachers and community leaders who never engaged with him, who probably told him all about “being a man” and probably said stuff like “he will grow out of it” and assumed lots of things for him. They should replace his actual picture with this and also not use his name.

Thats also what sexism does. If a man is anything but a perfect “man” it is debilitating, especially for someone a bit borderline. We need to stop pigeonholing people into specific gendered roles. Its not healthy.

Quite a few Americans actually do keep their shoes on, at least in rooms with hardwood or tiled floors. Having grown up in Canada, where taking shoes off was the routine practice, that took some getting used to.

Something I am absolutely revolted, and distracted by, that they do on TV shows is put those shoe-clad feet on bedspreads and couches. Why? Who does that? You were just walking outside with those shoes, why are they now on your bedspread or couch? Are you an animal?

You know, I always assumed that people on TV had their shoes on because they were not actually in a house, but on a set. am I wrong? do people around the work really keep their shoes on in their house? with the dirt and dust and filth? whyyyyyyyyyyy????????
