Obviously I care - where did I say that I didn’t? I find this story fascinating, and the responses to it as well. I’m very much aware of what a message board is but thank you for trying to educate me as if I didn’t know what it was that I’ve been commenting on.

So should people with dangerous jobs also refrain from having kids because they are more likely to die? Or should they be allowed to do what they please with their own body and what they feel is the best decision for them?

People can die at any time. You can lose a parent at any age.

Saying someone doesn’t have a “right” to have a child is very close to saying that as they age they lose their bodily autonomy. I don’t necessarily agree with this woman’s opinion, but it is her body and she can do with it what she wishes.

There’s some information lacking about how she came to this decision. Perhaps she discussed it with her family beforehand and someone voluntarily agreed to help raise the kids should she be unable to. She had to travel out of the country for her IVF, maybe their family is close and the older siblings frequently help

Although I do agree with you, I’m struggling to come to a firm opinion on this issue. On one hand, she is indeed older than most mothers and that could put some significant burden on her kids, but we don’t know if she spoke to her other children about her decision beforehand - maybe one of her other children has

Because it creates an illusion of safety that simply does not exist in the real world? If you’re triggered by something online, you are absolutely going to be triggered by many things in your day to day life. And perhaps, instead of avoiding these issues, we should be open to discussing the realities of them and how

Everything should have a trigger warning then. Every article about war to protect vets with PTSD who might be triggered by reading about war. Every article that includes animal abuse or the death of a pet, for people who love their pets. Every article about a child that has gone missing should have a trigger warning

I feel like the title says it all really. Why a trigger warning when the title implies this is an article about rape? Every time there’s a trigger warning it’s like “I know, I get it, I read the freakin’ title.”

Except if you live in the northern world in the winter. Almost half of Canadians end up with some form of vitamin D deficiencies in the winter because less UVB reaches the earth which means your body produces very little vitamin D. Plus the cold weather means you can’t really expose your skin. It gets so depressing.

I really wish Canadian TV had better budgets and more opportunities to allow Canadian shows to shine. We have the talent here but it’s just so hard to compete with the states. I’d love to see some well done, original, Canadian content. Maybe a dark and gritty drama based on the oil sands or just more shows written,

What a beautiful image. *gets teary eyed*

Ugh I hear you. I’d looove to go to Japan and probably already would have by now if I didn’t have a fish allergy.

Hey,
