Carter Bays confirmed that they DO get married. He hasn't said anything about them staying married but that flash forward, it's only a couple of months in the future.

Ba-dum-bum!
This is still taking place in 2013 though. So if Marshall and Lily DO go to Italy, it'll be for a year and they'll be back by 2014. I imagine they'll stay too, because I swear there is an episode where Ted says something about Marshall being a judge in the future. But I'm not sure. I need to rewatch 1-8 once again.
You said duh-doy! I love you.
I felt EXACTLY the same way about Marshall and Lily's argument (my comment is floating around here somewhere). This is a REAL conflict and is treated as such, which I love.
Yes it's from The Perfect Cocktail!
Yeah I don't think the mother is dead. And I really hope she's not. But recently Carter Bays was talking about the two-part finale and assuring people that the particular ending they chose was the way they'd always planned it. When I read it, for some reason I felt a sense of discomfort. Like, oh crap, what are they…
Year of Penny, suck it!
But all he said was "Where's my wife?" it was possible that he was just making a joke because he was high and the mother was dead. Plus if the mother died in childbirth, that particular flash forward would've been many many years later. So not in such bad taste to joke about.
I didn't even think about that! Omg now I'm worried!! :(
Replying to my own post for a little added thought. Lily was bothering me this episode with her whining about Italy. San Fran wasn't the only selfish thing she did. She also racked up huge credit card debt without ever telling Marshall. He stayed at a job he hated for her. And he encouraged her artwork, even finding…
This episode was light years ahead of last week's. We actually got forward movement in the multiple plots, and I'll never complain about seeing the mother. I assume Penny is a reference to Ted's lucky penny that kept him from leaving NY several years before? And we all know where Luke came from. Now we have to find…
I have a genuine question. Can a black guy make fun of a white woman? You say it's about who has the power. Black men were allowed to vote before women of any race. I'm just curious as to who would be considered "in power" in that situation. And if it's black men over white women, does that mean I can make racist…
She's a vegetarian, she says so in Contemporary American Poultry. Definitely not vegan because she eats cheese pizza. Unless she's got cheat days. Or maybe she's a lacto-vegetarian. Eats cheese but not meat or eggs.
I laughed, but my heart kind of broke along with Abed's.
I'm still curious as to WHERE these tracking devices are? And HOW Abed planted them.
I think Pierce's gift or non-gift to Abed made sense. Dan Harmon has always said that there is a piece of him in every member of the study group, but that he's always related to Abed the most. And as we know, Chevy didn't relate to Harmon well. So, I think that was sort of a joke on their contentious relationship,…
Those were my favorites too! Also, though I didn't like the whole Changnesia plot, I did enjoy Advanced Documentary Filmmaking.
I did think Abed catfishing Annie was quite strange. I mean, he wanted breakfast of course. But it's clear that Annie was sharing really personal things with him. Which is odd to me. I think if they don't move out of the apartment, they will become closer friends in Troy's absence. I don't think they will date,…
