It was actually the 7th slap. Marshall slapped Barney 4 times, then let him remove the ducky tie in exchange for three more slaps, then used two of them right away, plus another last night. So he had 8 total, and as of last night has used 7 of them.

Wasn't a fan of the episode, but I DID enjoy Carl's line about the gold!

Good point, but even then I'd say people are expressing disbelief that Donna, who everyone seems to like as a reviewer, saw something in this episode that so many others didn't see. I felt more of a "huh?!" when I read it, but I won't make rude comments.

Yeah frozen was pretty great. I took my daughter to it twice. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

I agree with you. The "how" is why the show has been on for 9 years. But given the fact that we've had nearly 200 episodes of this show, it's the final season, and there are LITERALLY (ha Robin) 10 episodes remaining, I expect more. And so do most people watching. Break that down for a sec. 200 minutes left of the

This episode made me very Unslappy.

I didn't like this episode and therefore disagree with the review. That doesn't make a person condescending. I've read all the comments, and I haven't seen any that are putting Donna down for her review. People are just stating their own opinions, the majority of which are a negative reaction to last night's episode.

Barney certainly didn't INTEND to hit that.

That's a reason this episode was so disappointing. The opening scene excited me and then it was like [insert sad trombone here].

I've been a fan of this show from its onset. I think I've earned my right to express displeasure at specific episodes. And that's not to say I've hated this whole season. Some episodes have been good. This one was not. Everyone has a right to their opinion.

Hahaha! I liked that.

Can someone please explain to Devon what an analogy is?

Ummmm the original slap bet was in SEASON TWO! Most of the series by your definition would be considered "filler episodes" since most don't advance the story of the mother. This is season 9, the FINAL season. I don't need a mother plot every week, but I at least ask that these "fillers" be funny, and this was NOT. But

Name these Season 2 "clunkers" you speak of.

Omg I did a spit take when I read that!!
June…we had a June wedding.
Ahh, Canada in June.

He lost a lot of weight.

I like the original slap bet episode, because it introduced Robin Sparkles and is one of my top 5 favorites, maybe even #1. The first Slapsgiving was also good. I just liked the plot with Old Bob and the Major Buzzkill introduction.

I wouldn't give this episode anything above a C, and a C would be me being generous. It was pure filler. Good to see the characters again, but just boring and unfunny.

Oh my god, that article made me laugh so hard I gained 100 lbs and fell down!

Agreed. And seasons 4-7 are the best of all. Just watched S6 Homer Badman last night, it will NEVER get old to me, no matter how much I've seen it. Gummy Venus *drool*
