If it’s something important or expensive, I usually research the products available on amazon. I’ve seen electronics from brands I’ve never heard of with over 5000 reviews with an average of 5 star reviews. To me that doesn’t scream credibility, but comes across as sketchy AF.

That’s wild! Scammers are notorious for requiring gift cards to fulfill transactions. They also want to stay on the line while you do buy it, I guess because they don’t want to give you call back number you can verify through google.
