I don’t know if it’s really “the market” - it’s blatant consumer abuse. I have a friend who got his PhD in psychology, and now works for a large developer. His job is essentially to find the critical point in gameplay where people are hooked, so that they know where to place the soft paywall. The FTC would probably…
It’s a microtransaction game. Right now, you are rolling along fine getting into the game. Around the early 20's, a soft wall appears when it becomes more and more difficult to capture and improve in any way without purchasing in-game items. This is the way that microtransaction games have been for awhile.
Yeah, this needed to be a title that had full development, a full game price tag, and no microtransactions. The arbitrary paywall ruined it just as much as the glitches and poor functionality.
The RPGs had tall grass and caves that you knew you could go to in order to get pokemon - we don’t have that in GO
Explain to us how this is a cheat.
Can you explain how you enjoy “randomness”? This is just blindness
Random shit is getting promoted to the front page, whoops
IDK, it’s really easy for somebody to get into the Smogon metagame (singles) and it takes months to get into the VGC metagame. Disparaging people for liking different formats is wrong on both your parts
That’s my single biggest critique of doubles - it renders stall unviable. Removing a playstyle entirely is bad. I like the format otherwise for it’s complexity and the way it rewards teambuilding.
Depends. Most stars have contracts specifying a threshold fee over which bids must be accepted
Zero isn’t always true. Some stars have contracts specifying a percentage of the fee they get when sold.
According to a commenter on another thread, the game is taking raw GPS data, which is noisy and can be affected by bouncing off buildings and such. That means that for some people in specific locations, the game thinks they are bouncing around in circles because of the local geography and counts that as walking even…
I’m flabbergasted that the officials think they need to put a body man on players during rain delays. What do they care? Let the players roam free as long as they make it back when play resumes. Dock them points if they aren’t back in time.
Regardless, this still falls into the tommy john argument - why is it ok for a player to take some drugs or have some surgeries that enable them to play better or longer than their genetics say they should be able to and not others? Corticosteroids and restorative surgery are ok, but anabolic steroids aren’t? What…
This is the Dave Cameron/Jeff Sullivan take on clutch
To be fair, she only showed up at the convention via video, and those images were of the convention. But that wouldn’t allow feminist outrage.
The kool-aid is strong for the games. In any rational world, some outside competing nation would say “hey guys, fuck the corrupt IOC, let’s make our own literally less shitty games.” Athletes would think about it and choose to skip the shit-filled games for the non shit games. We do not live in a rational world.
What’s interesting about this is that the Bee has always struck me as right-leaning. As much as I love it for other reasons, their reason for maintaining the state employee salary database struck me as “small-government-y.” I would assume they would love to rip the mayor on this.
Did you just not read, or are you a sociopath?
