@annejumps: See above — I posted an image of the changes SNL made. The transcripts are verrrrry similar.
@NefariousNewt: @Charmingbutalarminglydisarming: I did it for my blog... my boyfriend had already typed up the transcript so it was easy to cut and paste.
@DeafChick: There has to be someone Twittering it... you can get Twitter updates sent to your phone.
Matt Lauer didn't seem to be buying it, noting that Petcka is a "big guy" and then asking Petcka if he did to the cat what he couldn't do to his girlfriend.
"But at least we have Tina Fey to make us laugh. The thing is, those sketches are getting less funny the more true they are. I feel like this sketch was eerily similar to Palin's actual answer about the bailout."
I am way behind on comments so maybe someone has said this already but I feel like these debates are going to resemble Nixon-Kennedy. McCain just doesn't seem up to the task, while Obama looks alert and energetic and seems well-prepared.
@rocknrollunicorn: The hospice one is my other favorite! Can you remind me of what it's called?
OK, I haven't read this post yet and I know it's a no-no not to do so before commenting, but I am SO FUCKING EXCITED to see this book here! I have been meaning to re-read it and was going to request a Fine Lines on it. SOOOOOO EXCITED! This just made my day!
@rocknrollunicorn: I read the book this summer and loved it. I like your description of the show, so maybe I will check it out. (Sorry PilgrimSoul!)
OK, this is awesome. I actually used The Gits in my senior thesis and always thought Zapata's story was really tragic. I remember reading a quote from one of her friends who, upon hearing Mia had been strangled, immediately asked whether she'd been raped, as "those crimes go hand-in-hand." Home Alive is a great…
@Jamie Sommers: GOOD CALL. I think they're all Frank Caliendo, dressed up as various other celebs.
@cassis: I'm guessing Ice-T is there somewhere to support his SVU castmate?
Nicholas Sparks is, sadly, probably the most famous writer to come out of my alma mater. I've never read his books, but I imagine they are, to borrow a phrase from Jack Black in High Fidelity, "tacky, sentimental crap."
@DrJimmy: Reading comprehension does not seem to be a strong suit in those who would ban books.
And now we have a Vice Presidential candidate who tried to add a dictionary (a DICTIONARY!) to a banned-books list.
I will be adding the completion of this list to my 43 Things.
@hatepaperdoll: CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE ACK!
@Archetype: My cat has uneven legs!
@info*ninja: I just read an article about this type of situation in TIME, and while it can work out great, problems arise if one party's life plans change (e.g., someone decides to move closer to her boyfriend in another city, or similar). It's important to lay down ground rules and have a contingency plan in place in…
