I heard this — on NPR this morning maybe? — and my first thought was WTF? The story made it sound like Obama could just tell HRC to go somewhere and she'd drop whatever she was doing and go there. It also makes me laugh that the Dems obviously need HRC so badly now that Palin's involved.

@langtry: I'm with you. I am trying to cease my usage of gendered language completely — including bitch. To paraphrase Mean Girls, it just makes it OK for men to use it.

I think the homecoming queen metaphor works very nicely. But that may be because, my junior year of high school, our homecoming queen wore a Confederate flag as a skirt on the last day of school.
