@spinal77: "In my workplace we are forced to order goods and supplies from certain companies who charge us 2 to 3 times the market price for them simply because they're owned by women." I don't understand this example, or possibly your sentence structure. The way it reads is that the companies charge more because

@stuckinbed: It was not a social construct that raped me. It was a man.

@spinal77: Also, please explain to me what you think feminism actually is, because I have a feeling you're mistaken.

@little stripes: If he wanted to discuss it, he would do so. He knows none of us will fly to Ottawa, so he's safe.

@spinal77: Seriously, read what was already said above. You are arguing against points that aren't being made.

@SarahMC: More than anything it shows the decline of the American education system. I had to learn logic in math classes throughout high school. Apparently not everyone did?

@spinal77: The point that "men" in that context does not mean "ALL MEN" was already discussed above. See what I said above about arguing against points that aren't being made.

I am really confused by the number of people coming onto this thread and arguing against points that aren't being made. Or asserting that there are really good men out there, when no one was saying there weren't.

@Werrick: It sounds like you probably don't know what feminism is.

@little stripes: @SarahMC: Don't trust her, little stripes. She has a feminist maxim generator. I saw it!

@mutualcraze: Forgetting Sarah Marshall was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. In no small part due to Russell Brand.

@stuckinbed: We're not making fun of women who stay home by choice. We're making fun of men who expect ALL women to make that choice and who are at the same time dismissive of said women's value. Women who do not work outside the home contribute a great deal to their families — as much as male "breadwinners" do. It is

@stuckinbed: I am confused about where that was insinuated in this thread. Can you point me to the comments in question?

@Torontochic: The "man haters" I know aren't feminists, though. Feminists love men; we simply hold them to higher standards, which we believe they can achieve.

I am wondering whether Botox injections cure forehead sweat as well. I'm embarrassed that I'm wondering this, but I'm wondering nonetheless.

I have the Big Mama Thornton version of "Hound Dog" on my iPod. It's amazing, and holds a totally different meaning than the Elvis cover.

@bess marvin, girl detective: I responded to her above and clarified what I meant. I wasn't saying that I know he's not cheating because we live together. I meant that a) I know his work/life schedule and he doesn't have time during the day and b) at night he is home with me, so he's not cheating then either. That's

@Kittenish: @SarahMC: No, I know — I was trying to indicate both that he doesn't have time during the day (I generally know his whereabouts) and he's not cheating at night, because he's at home with me then. I didn't mean to conflate living together with fidelity. The two are not synonymous.

@ArmansCopyOfSwank: "But isn't it the fact that prostitution is illegal that's keeping these women from reporting crimes against them, whether it be rape or forced service?"
