@kirksucks

I enabled the keyboard shortcuts, but they're not working. I keep hitting c to compose, but it doesn't do anything.

I suppose we shouldn't be starting flame wars, and probably should stick to the topic at hand. I will throw a quick note out though that I used Ubuntu for several months on an old laptop. That particular laptop would take about 10 minutes (no lie - I timed it a few times) from a cold boot to being able to actually

Now to try and figure out how to do this type of mount in a laptop! :)

If you use Digsby or Pidgin, do either of them store your GTalk chats in Gmail? You don't know how many times I've had to go back to a chat session to find information when using GTalk, and it's very nice to have all that archived right there.

Quick question about Pidgin and Digsby. Does it continue to store the Google Talk conversations in Gmail? I'd like to switch to one client, but I've gone back to those conversations several times in Gmail to get information I needed.

I've been a long time Windows user, and I took the plunge into Ubuntu late last year. I like it, but I still can't recommend it fully. My main gripe (besides the lack of current hardware support out of the box) is it just needs to be easier to install apps. Many people don't want to have to open up a terminal

I guess I don't get the "why" part of having an empty mail box. I actually use my email for a storage facility, as do many of my co-workers.

It'd be a close tie between F5 and backspace for me.

I've used H&R TaxCut for the past 3 years, the software, not the online version. I love it. Our taxes aren't overly complicated (no kids, only 1 house, no business), so I get through it all rather quickly. It took me a couple hours on a Saturday, our return was accepted on Sunday, we got our deposit within a week.

@HOPPES

No Palm OS support - yet. Give them a little time.

I know it's not free, but I've been using MunduIM on my Palm Treo 700p (they have a version for Windows based PDAs also) for several months. I've been very pleased with it. It has cross platform conferencing, works with darn near everything; the latest version even works with GTalk. It does not use SMS.

I've purchased several sticks of RAM for work and home from 4allmemory, and I have been very pleased with their price and quality.

I made a holder out of clear vinyl that I picked at Wal-Mart in the fabric department. I used Super Glue to hold it all together, and put a strap around it that I could hang from the rear view mirror. It doesn't sway much when I drive, and since everything is clear (including the strap), it doesn't distract much

Word to the wise, you shouldn't install Google Earth free or Plus version or any business PC. We just went through a big ordeal here, and after careful investigation of the EULA, only the Pro version is supposed to be installed on business computers.
