I dunno, possibly. If the MSRP was around $60k, then $40k after 5 years means that it hasn’t depreciated as much as you might think. So, the questions are simple: 1) What’s the value when you push it to 100k and 2) What are out of warranty repairs like. My guess is that your play here would be a short term one. If the

Yep, $100 REFUNDABLE deposit means absolutely nothing. It means that they have zero intention of producing it within the next 2 years. People will be happy to put $100 on the Credit Card if they think that they MIGHT want to buy one within the next few years or even maybe sell their spot in line. Change it to a $1,000

Yeah, sure, I’m going to buy a car where it’s possible for a Maserati tech to screw up an oil change which causes the engine to FAIL. WHAT???? I mean, I bet most cars could run quite fine even without oil for a period of time, so what the heck happened here? And all of the rebuilt titles, what’s up with that? Car gets

I always thought it was funny that in the first F&F, the original hero car was the crappy Eclipse which then became trashed (as it should’ve). I hate the second F&F movie with a passion - I really enjoyed the rest including the not-well-respected Tokyo Drift.

What’s not to like when it spends the weekdays at the Audi dealership to give you those weekend rides :)

I’ve always loved the Audi TT, but the fact that you can them at this price tells me that there’s no way I could afford to keep up with the repair costs/frequency on this sucker and I doubt I’m wrong.

Is this April 1st??? Come on. Is this a “nice price” and maybe a “collector car”? I don’t have a clue. I’d put this in the same category as a collector level Gremlin. Nobody wants this crap and maybe that’s why it’ll be worth money someday... because people are stupid.

Yeah, it’s pretty simple. This might be a great car to have that’s a 3rd/4th vehicle that you can keep in your 4 car garage with a dedicated lift. I’ll never forget that Edmunds bought a used CL65 AMG that was originally $180k that they bought for $30k. They had it for 1 year and it was in the shop 41 days. They spent

Yeah, I’d love a Tesla but fear is a real thing for repairs. If you get in an accident, you-are-screwed. Period. And if you get unlucky and have out of warranty repairs relating to any of the electronics, you-are-screwed. Model S owners had to pay $4k to replace their screens because they’d chew up the SSDs and you

Huh? Why would I throw away this type of money? I mean, do you expect it to go UP in value? Hahaha. If you’ve got this type of money to waste, just lease a Porsche or something.

LOL Carbon Neutral. Wouldn’t that mean that all they’d have to do is buy some Co2 credits or buy some trees to compensate. I seriously doubt there is any real change coming, just marketing BS.

Sorry, you lost me at “1998 Mitsubishi”. Mitsubishi is just one of those rare Japanese companies that can’t make a reliable car to save their business. I’m sure similar age/model Toyotas and Hondas sell for 2x that price and there’s a reason for that. If I’m going to get a cheap, near-antique SUV then at least get me

Sorry, but that’s just the way it is and I think it’s a good thing. If someone wants our 25 year old Corvettes and Mustangs then that’s fine and good for those that held on to them and make a profit. The cars are antiques. I’m sure there are lots of great options for Japanese that are 5-20 years old as well as

Sorry, this is what happens when you die. You immediately become the greatest person ever. That’s just the way it is. It drives me nuts, but so be it. For those that he wronged, I hope they can find justice and peace and at least know that he won’t be able to do it to anyone else.

What on Earth would you “service” every year? Brake Fluid should be the only thing you should touch on a regular frequency and that’s every 3 years - a moisture meter would also help there. I GUESS you could grease the calipers, but that would be pretty extreme.

Why only the fronts? My understanding is that on a modern car, brake power is pretty evenly distributed, so you shouldn’t have more wear in the fronts even if you have front wheel drive.

That’s a load of crap. In terms of tires, I will only put on Walmart tires from here on out. Cheap, quiet and runs great. In terms of brakes, price really doesn’t mean anything. OEM pads can be found very inexpensively (especially if you use an OEM manufacturer) while super-expensive pads are often race focused and

I could be wrong, but my thinking was/is that the cheap ones were designed for brake shops that offer “lifetime brakes”. The pads are crap and are indeed covered by the company that cheaply makes them with the “catch” being that you’ll be paying for labor to replace them.

I always liked the scene from the Jackal (my roommate watched it all the time) where he “washes” off the white exterior showing a different color.

I’d say that if you have the cash to pay for this outright (no 72 month loans for this guy) and have it as a 3rd/4th+ vehicle, it could be a fun car to have. Ideally, it’d be best if you have the capability to work on this yourself (or have a trusty mechanic) as you’ll be troubleshooting issues.
