Metal Gear Solid: Dance Dance Snake Revolution: The Pachinko VR Edition

Microsoft puts out a boring textbook by the numbers announcement formula. Trailers with no gameplay footage. A wall of studio logos. What else did they do?

The irony is that, while looking all shiny and super-detailed, most cutscenes today expose poor scene blocking, janky character models, and worn-out cliched dialogue. Actual gameplay footage in this day and age would serve the marketing potential a lot more. There’s no need to hide 32-bit sprites behind fancy

Yeah, I’d say Nintendo is doing alright nowadays.

The original SAC episodes are looking like the benchmark that the franchise will never be able to surpass in our lifetime. That’s fine by me. Those two seasons delved deep enough into that world to last me a good while. A permanent fixture in my library.

If I recall correctly, the pc version of Red Faction had a map maker. The catch was, barely anyone knew how to use the tools. lol

The materia system in both the original and this one still kicks total ass. Customization possibilities are just unbeatable.

Just finish it. The endgame content will keep you busy prepping for hard mode. The level skip feature is super-generous, unlike how a lot of other games tend to handle their new game + (or whatever the buzzword might be) modes. Go wupp some ass. There’s also that nighttime pond scene at Aerith’s house that has three

Please shoot VR goggles and put it out of its misery. It will never be adopted as a viable gaming peripheral, no matter how companies want to spin it.

Oh! The studio that did the Worms games. Cool.

Marketing sure loves them cutscenes. To them, gameplay footage is second banana. Probably because they aren’t gamers. That's right, I just generalized and pigeonholed them. And I don't care. lol

So there were vikings, and also... viqueens?

That’s my hope and assumption as well. People have to remember that this is only the first episode, and that any current restrictions could only be because it’s the Midgar section of the game.

I wonder if the 1 summon per battle thing is just a thing for this episode, and that in later episodes there’ll be a materia that allows you to summon multiple times.

Deadliest enemies feared at both physical and psychological levels:

If they want to git gud, they better make sure they have an efficient, above average bug-fixing culture. That’s how Yukes managed to get their games out on time back in the THQ days. And even with them going 100mph on bug fixing, there were still some bugs that made it out to the public.

Let’s hope they all turn on each other, and then proceed to eat each other alive until the entire playerbase implodes.

I totally still want to do the stairs option. As I took the elevators, that’s all I was thinking. The original sequence with Barret had me laughing so hard, probably because I was saying almost the same things while it was unfolding. Most games wouldn’t have the guts to be that self-aware to reflect them in the

Yep. Not only Square, but other companies like Sega had poor source code archiving. One of the big benefits of these remasters is having a good reason to go back and hunt down the original code and then properly preserving them, even if they do go in later and replace assets. The foundation is at the very least

In Mario Kart 64, my friends and I played the Battle Mode a ton every weekend until the sun rose.
