Smith should have been kicked out of the building immediately.
Smith should have been kicked out of the building immediately.
Well, a certain former president to date has been able to get away with a lot so a lot of other people have *thought* they could get away with the same sort of thing and are finding out that they in fact cannot. They still stupidly felt empowered enough to try first, though which is the concern.
His overall critique of Orientalism in film in general and WW84 in particular is totally valid. The film industry has done a piss poor job of changing its conception of this part of the world and of telling stories that depict it accurately. This quote, however, isn’t terribly convincing as a main prong of his…
You have no idea how hard I lobbied to have characters dodging piles of shit and needles when I briefly worked for Pixar.
Counter-counterpoint: The whole world is shitty... why isolate Cairo for condemnation?
To be fair maybe the intent was simply to make Wonder Woman a sexual predator, and bringing Trevor’s soul back into an unwitting body (who’s soul apparently never left? Went away and came back? IDK) was the easiest way to make it happen!
I mean he’s got a point. This is a picture of Cairo in 1980, even a few years earlier than the movie. It’s a city. Hollywood does have a habit of showing Cairo like it’s perpetually the dig site from Indiana Jones.
Poor Will. For all the bad things that have happened to him, that haircut may be the worst.
I think you’ll be happily surprised. The show is epic, yes, but it also feels quiet/sublime. A great balance of both!
This sounds like the perfect merging of mediocrity between talent and subject matter.
One of the films I’m most looking forward to this year. Fingers crossed.
Eh, that’s probably for the best...he’s not half the man he used to be.
I know this will land like a lead balloon, but under the circumstances (and especially based on the depth and sincerity of her apology), can’t we just chalk this up to someone being kind of flustered and excited and saying something she normally wouldn’t have in just about any other situation? People sometimes use the…
Disney’s Pinnochio might have been watered down, but the Pleasure Island donkey scene bothered me as a kid. So even watered down, it’s still a fucked up story. The animation is beautiful, but the way the story approaches morals puts me off of revisiting it.
Staaaaar Warrrrrrs ... Nothing but Staaaaaar Warrrrs
Maybe the job ages him like a two-term president
I mean Luke basically grew up in a trailer park , so his having the cheap, bulky, many times repaired equipment , and Obi having the rich guys slim tech does make sense . (But yeah the unavoidable fact that the original trilogy era technology looks primitive compared to the prequel era stuff has always been a bit of a…
Towards the end of the film, Luke Skywalker loses a whole limb to Darth Vader
My first reaction...thank God we get Space Tokyo and not more Tattooine! A little bit of Tattooine goes a long way.
See that makes sense and if that is her, thats the only time I ever saw her as well. Didn’t know much about her at all.
