To me, Simu Liu was effectively an unknown pre-Shang-Chi. As other people have said, he got really big as a result of Shang-Chi rather than having been cast in a big movie because of being marquee name. So, when I say he’s replaceable, I think any other ‘unknown’ might have been cast for the first movie. He just

And mighty white indeed of you to say that arguably the biggest Asian star right now doesn’t matter and is replaceable. I guess they all look alike, right?

I kinda think QT was somewhat attacking MCU actors, but it’s a strange attack unless they’re actually publicly placing importance on being a movie star. It’s strange partly in that most actors at least try to pretend to be modest that it’s not about being a movie star, and that rather it’s about “the craft”.

I saw a billboard yesterday of a de-aged Harrison Ford saying “I could smile 12 weeks from conception!”  It was so realistic!

The Bible clearly says the butt is only for pooping.

Kristen Bell seems like a delightful person, but she’s in the same category as Ryan Reynolds of likeable people who make movies that don’t look very good and aren’t too terribly interesting.

The network will still feature people of diverse backgrounds, but mostly playing trees or mailboxes, while the most talented among them will play the movies’ godless villains promoting sodomy and images of a non-white Santa Claus.

I know you’re describing it as “one big hurdle”, but that doesn’t really capture how ENORMOUS that hurdle is and how enormous an advantage that FastPass is for these people. They can start their career in their teens because of their parents while others with no family connections might not break out if they ever do

That’s kinda like the Die Hard movies.

I don’t think it was too terribly unreasonable at the time to be put off by the tweet. Her star was rising and the message made it sound like she wasn’t too concerned with other actors on the show and how their own careers maybe weren’t on the same trajectory. Maybe that’s what you’d call being offended on behalf of

I got Jerry Cougar Mellencamp!

I’m imagining a scene with the Queen calmly looking at the wreckage from the backseat of her car then calmly telling the chauffeur “drive”.

When I put her in a box and it turns out she’s both until you open the box at which point she ends up being a dead cat.

Lessons learned from The Olivia Wilde Story.

Maybe the lesser of the two is hoping to benefit from confusion in that people likely won’t bother to get their money back after they’ve paid to sit in a theater and Ashton Kutcher shows up onscreen instead of Michael Fassbender.

Yeltsin really set a high bar that will never again be cleared.

That’s one of the differences between bingeing three or four episodes of a show and watching a three-hour movie: there are natural breaks and there’s a designed pace and teasers that make people want to watch the subsequent episodes in a series, and people are used to that. It’s really up to the filmmaker to make a
