I think audiences don’t care as much anymore, but Hollywood insiders sure do because there’s still capital you can accumulate if you win, or even if you’re nominated. Even if viewership is down, I think there’s still some weight placed on the titles of “Oscar Winner” or “Oscar Nominee”. In normal times, you’d see a

“Hello, Newman.”

I’m hoping BD Wong’s character finds redemption by showing up with a dinosaur-fighting spider with eight of Jackson’s arms in place of its legs.

I hope CGI Richard Attenborough shows up with CGI Harold Ramis and zap those feathery dinosaurs with some crossed streams.

Let’s not forget to mention his giant penis.

He’s definitely right. But I’m not really sure how else I would have expected Motley Crue to respond when you’re publicly called garbage in the NYT.  I do hope this keeps going for a while.  The Phoebe Bridgers/David Crosby feud left me disappointed.

It’s gonna be a buy wearing a t-shirt that says “DEPRESSION”.

My post was a response primarily to DrMedicine’s first sentence since it wasn’t obvious.

Maybe she’s an influencer and lost some followers?

Not that there aren’t enough roles for dudes, but I feel like I’ve seen plenty of movies about women alone in a secluded place and having to deal with some creepy thing stalking them all the while figuring out whether or not they’re losing their minds because of past trauma. This one has Garland directing Buckley, so

Wait, “Suck a hot dick!” is the first line in my epic novel set in the Civil War! Plagiarism!

I know! More like Don’t Look Up My Generally Positive Review of the Movie! AMIRITE?!?

I’d put The Power of the Dog ahead of WSS. Nevertheless, I’m a big fan of Spielberg’s movie, and I’m giving it big (albeit easy) points for having their actors use their own singing voices, with Ziegler’s doing pretty well compared even to Marni Nixon’s. And as much as I dislike Elgort, I also prefer his singing voice

I just hope she doesn’t turn into a cat like in that other movie she was in.

Hey, I didn’t even say it’s worthy of an award! So I do know better! Apologize! APOLOGIZE!

Maybe ‘nuance’ isn’t the right word, because you’re right that it’s not required for a movie to be good. I just thought there wasn’t anything too new or surprising about how the adults viewed the situation. Things were dangerous, and it was difficult to leave because that’s their home. I just didn’t quite find that

Loved The Green Knight. I don’t think it had broad appeal, but I also think it was a victim of poor release timing.  Patel will just have to settle for being handsome.

Is this a deleted scene from Seinfeld?

I, um, kinda enjoyed it. Nowhere near Best Picture quality, but it was lighthearted fun. DiCaprio was good, Lawrence was good, Streep....maybe go back to live theater? The more I see her, the more appropriate her style seems to be for theater than film.

And I’m pretty sure it’s gotten pretty good reviews all around, too. Maybe I was expecting to be blown away and it came up short, which maybe fooled me into thinking it came up really short.
