My knee-jerk reaction upon hearing the first news, too, was annoyance since I thought it seemed so unnecessary. But the reviews were overwhelmingly and surprisingly positive, and I’m glad I gave it a chance because it turned out to be pretty exhilarating. It’s not perfect, but really good. That’s a real accomplishment

Agreed. I’m just pointing out that that’s not an indication that it’s a bad movie. People weren’t interested, at least not enough to go to a theater in the middle of a pandemic. If you didn’t see it, then you can’t say you didn’t like it.

Hey, really great points.  Your tastes are all that matter and are never wrong.

I loved it, and critics loved it.  It’s not necessarily that audiences didn’t.  They just didn’t go see it in droves.

I think I saw the video of her place and Gyllenhaal’s/Sarsgaard’s NYC place in the same sitting, and I definitely knew I’m not living next to that couple even if I could afford it.

Seconded. I think she’s always pretty good, loved her in Suspiria, but that Architectural Digest tour just endeared her further to me.  She’s a real delight.

I mean, c’mon, that ass looked nothing like Snook’s!

Meh, he was a little stiff.

Chill, straightedge, but fights villains with a weaponized Jazzmaster.

The worst movie podcasts I’ve tried to quit but stubbornly won’t?: Show Me The Meaning, Unclear and Present Danger, and Little Gold Men.

Why can’t Batman be like J. Mascis instead?

That sucks.  Rife and Dowd are great.  G/O is not.  Learn to treat your employees fairly, you fucks.

Looks like Rife was one of the seven who were forced out with this “offer”.  Who else are we losing?

Where the fuck have I been?  Just learning about this now, thanks to your post.  Messed up.

No happy hours outside the floor? No out-of-state conferences? No team-building outings? This place suuuuuucks!

This is that superhero who shows his ass to everyone, right? And Isaac’s playing him?  Sign me up!

Yeah, I’m not sure how much I love Breakfast. It’s fine as a movie, but I feel like it could have been richer if it had stuck more closely to the novella because the key relationship between Paul and Holly are fundamentally different because of how the movie changed their sexualities, not just the gay/straight/bi, but

Those three leads are just delightful. There’s not much more to say about Hepburn, but I can say Peck is likely my favorite actor from old Hollywood. I think he’s head and shoulders about Cary Grant when it comes to leading-man charm and humor, and palatability. And I agree that Eddie Albert’s really great, hilarious,

I’m disappointed the still-gorgeous Elisabeth Shue isn’t in this trailer.
