Some countries have national service , where you have to spend a year or two in the military in your late teens. I think national customer service should be a thing , spend a year or two in retail or CS dealing with customers , and later on as a customer you’ll treat them with respect .

I think your overestimating how many of them had much interaction outside of their ethnic group let alone their racial one. Lots of areas in the US are so White you could mistake them for an avalanche. And lots of areas are mostly made up of one or two ethnic groups. Especially rural and suburban areas.
