Not sure what the problem is. The article asks where all the car girls are. The obvious answer is that there are very few because they generally aren’t interested in cars.

Truth is, women make everything sexual. Women get into video games, now we have Zoie Burgher and various other porno streamers and porn stars turned cosplayers.

Or maybe women are just predisposed to prefer fashion instead of cars. Crazy, I know, but maybe men and women are programmed differently???

My own children, 1 boy and 1 girl, are classic examples of this. They aren’t exclusively dolls vs machines, but there’s a clear preference for each.

“Like other male-dominated areas, fostering more female car enthusiasts will depend on more factors than we can even begin to name. The societal pressure against the creation of a female car enthusiasts starts with that cheesy gender reveal with pink cake or confetti in some balloon that dictates girls are supposed to

Have to meet the page view quotas and push the Gawker agenda though. Attacking Uber is so hip right now, easier to pile on...

Agreed on this. The WHOLE POINT of surge pricing is to get more drivers out there driving to help everyone get where they want to go. NOT to rip people off or take advantage of them. It’s simple supply and demand. IDK why people struggle with this so much???

Proactive may be relative to the customers not yet asking specifically for a refund. If they were to issue refunds before they heard about the bomb, that would be clairvoyant.

Uber and Lyft drivers don’t make enough! *Surge pricing happens* Uber and Lyft rips consumers off!

ND V8 Monster Miata.

Pretty much exactly this. I’m not sure what more people want them to do, they suspended the surge pricing nearly immediately after finding out about the bombing.

Being from Manhattan, I’m not sure why you can’t just WALK 10 blocks instead of b*tching to Lyft and Uber? Yes, a $100 fare is ridiculous when your normal fare is $20. But last I checked, you have legs. And there are tons of yellow cabs roaming the streets.

Surge pricing worked exactly the way it was supposed too. The systems saw demand exceed capacity, so fare prices went up.

Surge pricing is tied to demand.

How does surge pricing work exactly? Presumably it’s an algorithm that monitors Uber ride requests by geographic location and ups the prices accordingly when it identifies hotspots.

I’m with you. Every time these drivers get a chance to make some actual money to make up for the hours spent shuttling obnoxious drunks home after last call, the world shits itself.

in the wake of immediate criticism.

In terms of peak 80's wheels, I love the absurdity of the Melber Scacchiera II.

Because good aftermarket wheels are stronger and lighter than most factory wheels, and let you run wider wheel and tire widths for more grip. Duh. And factory wheels are massively overpriced as individual parts. Are you even a car guy?

Is that an Allroad with a functioning suspension?
