Even if you only count Elmo’s successes, he was already vastly overpaid. He’s already been paid $11 billion - how does that stack up? Alan Mullaly, Ford’s most successful CEO in modern times, earned $200 million in salary and $300 million in stock options for his entire 7 year tenure of saving the company from

The irony is that if he truly was a crusader about building eco-friendly products and doing the stuff to truly fight climate change — electric cars, solar roofs, clean manufacturing, etc — Tesla’s sales would probably be 3X what they were last year, and all the other businesses would be going like gangbusters. But he

Bullshit. Elon Musk is why I don’t own a Tesla. And I’m certain I’m not alone.

I vote for the wrap!  You saved money up front, now have fun.

Very much appreciate the tongue-in-cheekiness of the post, Amber.

Yeah, that’s what I was wondering. It doesn’t seem fair to blame buyers without looking into what it might cost them to get a more interesting colour. I’m certainly not destitute, but colour would probably be the last thing I would consider spending extra money on when buying a car.

The dealerships I’ve purchased from have all done the same thing - they say they bring in the cars that people want, but when I’ve tried to order an actual colour, they incentivize the purchase of a grey car on the lot.

Could it have anything to do with the fact that automakers are charging a premium for better colors???

I do put some of the blame for grayscale sports cars on car manufacturers, but mostly on dealers honestly. Carmakers have a lot of power in setting trends. What have some of the color trends been on sports cars? Murdered out (made easy by blackout trim from the factory), matte black, and non-metallic grays like

I’ll allow it.

Me, seeing the article: “How can you say that, pickups are like dogs, there’s no bad ones.”

Nah, I don’t particularly like the SSR but I respect it, and it shouldn’t be dumped on as hard as it is. It was intended as a boutique, low-volume seller and we should appreciate when automakers take those kind of risks and encourage more of it.

Prowlers fuckin’ rule.

Yes, we all have our “crack cocaine car” for which we are completely irrational, and the Prowler is mine.

This truck’s actual utility is informing those around you that you are a d-bag.

I will fight you!

I BETTER NOT SEE ANY OF YOU REPROBATES NOMINATE THE CHEVY SSR!

Aw look, someone doesn’t like EVs. <sad-face>

huh??
