I suspect they dropped out of The Flash to avoid having to direct The Flash.
With something this expensive that''s this close to completion,who the hell are they going to get? Ever day of delay probably costs a fortune, They'll likely end up with some journeyman or TV director who would normally never be allowed near a production like this, or somebody they trust who's in director jail.
